Warwickshire College Group https://www.warwickshire.ac.uk/ are one of the largest further and higher educational academies in the UK with six unique colleges across two counties, offering their students a range of courses and extra-curricular activities. They encourage and help their students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset by teaching innovative skills and behaviours, so that their students can become successful in the competitive world.

Reels in Motion were commissioned to film three short non-broadcast videos for Warwickshire College Group to help promote one of their colleges – Moreton Morrell. The short films were created to explain the experience and achievements that a student can expect when attending the college, and to promote the launch of their new sports courses and sports academies that that available to the students in September 2016.

In March 2016, we travelled across the county filming at Moreton Morrell College and The Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry over a three-day period, which helped us to get as much footage as possible. On the first day of the shoot, we visited Moreton Morrell College to film the different activities that take place on a day-to-day basis from; horse riding to construction work. Through the day we were also able to capture a number of cutaways and a to-camera piece by Andrew Cropley, the Director of Moreton Morrell College, who spoke about how successful the plans for the new sports courses and academies have been so far, and the future plans for the sports facilities to improve the college further.

As part of the Sports Academies video, the team visited The Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry to interview David Busst, the Director of Sky Blue in the Community, who spoke about their partnership with Moreton Morrell College and what experiences are available for the students.

On the final day of the shoot, focused on the new sports courses and sports academies which become available to the students in September 2016. We were able to film the students taking part in a number of sports activities such as cricket, basketball and badminton.

Once all of the filming had been complete, the footage was then edited into three short non-broadcast videos to help promote the new sports courses and sports academies that will be available to the students at Moreton Morrell College in September 2016.

“Life at Moreton Morrell” is a general overview of the college, helping promote all of the courses that they offer to their students such as; construction, animal welfare, arboriculture etc. “Sports Academies” is an overall summary of the new sports courses and sports academies that will be made available to the students in September 2016 including Dressage, Eventing and Football, for those who are looking for an elite level of training. “Sports Course and Sports Academies” promotes the life that a student can expect when attending Moreton Morrell College.
